Samba 4.3″

The Unitronics Samba 4.3” is a PLC with 2 auto-tuning PID loops) but an impressive range of HMI features, including a widescreen colour display. The unit includes a built-in USB programming port (with an option to add 2 more) and can support up to 20 on board I/Os and a range of comms.

Control and Programming Capability

Along with 2 independent PID loops, the Samba 4.3” has 112k of application memory, and dedicated memory for data tables of 32K RAM and 16K Flash. This makes it ideal for simple processes with a small number of variables. Programming is via free Ladder Logic software, and development is made faster and easier by a range of UI features such as a graphs and trends library, alarms and multi-lingual support.

HMI Features

This version of the Samba has a flat 4.3 inch (480 x 272 pixels), 16 bit colour touch screen in a widescreen format, with no operator panel keys, giving the developer a high level of control over user input.

A library of ready-to-use graphical HMI elements are supplied, such as buttons, keys, and a virtual on-screen keyboard for manual data entry.

Comms Capabilities

The Samba 4.3” can support a wide range of communication protocols including SMS, RS232/RS485, Ethernet, MODBUS, CANbus, UNIcan etc. The DF1 Slave protocol is also supported, enabling Master-Slave network integration.

The Samba 4.3″ includes a built-in USB programming port, with scope to add up to 2 more comms ports if required.

I/O Options

The Samba 4.3” is provided with up to 20 on-board I/Os consisting of 12 digital inputs and 8 relay or transistor outputs depending on model. The digital inputs/outputs can include temperature, weight, high speed counter or shaft encoder. Additional remote I/O expansion is available via CANbus.
