KM3

Functions – The KM3 has powerful process control functionality including choice of PID or ON/OFF control, choice of 3 PID algorithms (Oscillating, FAST and Evo-tune) and a choice of single or double action. Up to 4 set points are programmable for multi-stage processes and there is a wide choice of alarm functionality including Loop Break and Sensor Break. The unit features programmable compressor protection time delay and built-in timer functions, as well as Evo-green energy saving mode (optional).

 

HMI – The KM3 process controller has a dual display consisting of 4 LED digits each. The largest (15.5mm high) can be set to be permanently either red, green or orange, or can be programmed to change dynamically according to current value. The smaller (7.6mm) display is always green and shows the currently active set point. Additional LEDs show output states, alarm and other status information.

This unit is DIN sized (1/16) with a front panel of 48mm x 48mm.

There are 4 keys under the display area, two of which are labelled with Up and Down arrows. The other two are labelled with a left arrow and a looped arrow symbol – these perform largely the same functions as the P and U keys on the KR.

 

Inputs and Outputs – The KM DIN temperature controller has identical I/O options to the KR. This includes up to 2 inputs catering for a full range of temperature sensors, infrared and logical signals, plus mA and mV input.

Up to 4 outputs are available with a wide choice of output type including relay, SSR, servomotor control and digital.

 

Programming – The KM has the same set of parameters as that of the KR, which can be set manually via the keyboard, downloaded from an A01 programming key or remotely via RS485.

 

Communications – The unit has on-board RS485.
